Now let’s step beyond basic tracking of hit ratios and determine what data is necessary to properly distribute the objects across multiple pools, and how we approach pool sizing.

Just throwing memory at the environment may eventually provide the desired application response times. However, this usually wastes large amounts of memory, and memory is NOT an inexpensive resource.
